When I first recieved this pole I thought "man, I hit the mother-lode!" looks beautiful out of the box, seems to work great. By the end of day 1 fishing with it the reel started to fail. The lock which prevents it from turning the opposite direction started breaking right away. You try to hook a fish and the thing launches backwards spinning uncontrollably, losing you your fish, half your line, and sometimes, your lure. By the end of day 3 it was completely busted, and did not lock at all. NOTE - I did nothing aside from the normal fishing with it. I did not drop it, I did not put it in the water, it just broke. I replaced the reel with a Shakespeare, which is a bit more expensive but WORKS AMAZING! spend the extra cash for something that will last.
